About the Author

Soraya Shaw MSc

Soraya Shaw is an Applied Neuroscientist who loves nothing more than helping people discover just how amazing their brains truly are. After years of teaching adults the science of emotions, learning and confidence, she realised something important: children deserve this magic too.

Inspired by her own grandchildren, Soraya created Bertie & Betty™ to turn real brain science into a joyful adventure - full of glowing characters, big feelings and “aha!” moments. Through her work at BrainShaw® and as co-host of The Brainy Podcast, she brings curiosity, creativity and kindness to everything she does.
